Biography
Ege Serin is a plastic and digital artist based Istanbul. He attended to İstanbul Film Academy to study directing between 2018 to 2020.
Serin blended his visual skills with his narratives, mixing different materials, and his passion of storytelling enable him to tell his stories more authentically by his artworks.
The Artist’s works consist of different symbols and figures within a chaotic composition. They are neither completely figurative nor abstract.
Serin made them intentionally in that way for a purpose.
The reason of the vagueness in his paintings is that the audience creates their own stories, rather than the paintings tell them.
Artist Statement
My paintings consist of symbols and figures which are placed in chaotic compositions. They are neither completely figurative nor abstract , I made them intentionally in that way for a purpose.
I strongly believe that we are inclined to attribute meanings to images,symbols or someone without even taking into account how connected they are to the meaning.
Therefore, even though the topics are important, the real purpose of vagueness is for people to create their own realities with figures they find or create, just like all narratives ,religions or myths.
Therefore,the purpose of these paintings – rather than the paintings telling their own stories- is to have the audience create their stories.
Ege Serin, è un giovane artista plastico e digitale nato a Istanbul, dove ha frequentato l’Istanbul Film Academy per studiare regia, dal 2018 al 2020. Seguendo la sua passione per l’architettura, attualmente è uno studente del politecnico di Torino.
Ha partecipato a diverse mostre nel suo paese d’origine e in Europa. Ege ha unito le sue abilità visive e di narrazione, mescolando vari materiali, cosa che gli ha permesso di raccontare le sue storie in modo più autentico attraverso le sue opere.
Mes peintures se composent des symboles et figures qui sont placés dans les compositions chaotiques. Ils sont ni abstraits ni figuratifs. Je les ai fait comme ça délibérément pour une raison ; Je crois fortement que nous détachons de l’attribuer le sens aux images,symboles ou quelqu’un sans même tenir compte de leur lien avec le sens.
Même si les thèmes sont importants, le but de cet imprécision est de faire créer la réalité de son aspect avec les figures les personnes trouvent ou imagine, comme les recits, les religions ou les mythes.
L’objet principal de ces peintures est raconter leurs propres histoires en demandant le public d’imaginer ces histoires
